Neurodevelopmental Physiotherapy

Neurodevelopmental Service
The physiotherapists within this team provide an inpatient
service for infants with neurological or developmental
concerns.
We will look at your child's developmental milestones (rolling,
sitting, walking - as appropriate), their posture, range of
movement, strength, and muscle tone.
We work alongside the multidisciplinary team, which may include
doctors, nurses, occupational therapists, dieticians, speech and
language therapists or play specialists
An assessment of your child and treatment plan will be made on
the ward initially and may include being seen in our rehab
gym. We will set up an individualised treatment program which
may include:
- activities to facilitate normal development and normal movement
patterns
- positioning advice to maintain a good posture
- advice and education for parents, carers and nursing staff
