Eye Clinic Liaison Officer

The role of the ECLO is to offer a point of contact for anyone seeking emotional support, further help, advice or assistance for themselves or their carers.

The eye clinic liaison officer can:

-          discuss benefits entitlements

-          training opportunities/rights under current legislation

-          make referrals to other agencies that can help including charities and social services

-          provide a link to clinical staff/help patients to come to terms with their sight loss

-          complete CVIs and ensure that patients are registered in a timely manner

-          ensure that patients understand the benefits of registration

-          advocate for patients
