Planned roadworks August 2024

Roadworks impacting St Michael's Hill are due to start on Thursday 8 August 2024. Diversions will be signposted but please allow for extra time when travelling to our city centre hospitals for appointments.

The works by Bristol City Council are due to run until early 2025.  Find out more on the council's website.

Park and Ride

Park and Ride offer routes across Bristol as well as the South of Gloucestershire with routes from:

  • Brislington
  • Long Ashton
  • Lyde Green
  • Portway
  • Yate

These services cover Temple Meads, Cabot Circus, Broadmead (for UHBW hospitals), Southmead, UWE Frenchay and beyond.

Free hospital bus services

*Important update*
Due to staff  absence, the Bristol and Weston free shuttle bus services are likely to be unreliable after 4pm. The last service of the day departing from Bristol Temple Meads will be at 3pm, and the last service departing from St. Michael's Hospital will be at 5.10pm.

Bristol city centre hospital sites

A free shuttle bus service is provided for patients, visitors and staff. The circular route includes Bristol Temple Meads railway station and our city centre hospital sites. The service runs Monday to Friday.

Weston General Hospital circular shuttle bus for patients, visitors and staff

A free circular shuttle bus is provided for staff, patients and visitors between Weston General Hospital, Weston-super-Mare train station, Worle Village, Worle station and Haywood Village. This service runs Monday to Friday.   View the Weston General Hospital bus timetable.
 

Trains

Should you wish to travel to the Trust via the local train stations to the Trust which is Bristol Temple Meads and Bristol Parkway then please visit the Trainline website or download their current app: https://www.thetrainline.com/

The website will include all of the latest train information, journey planner, latest fares and discounts.

 

Cycling

For any patient or visitor to the Trust we have over 80 spaces for people to park their bikes free of change across all of our Bristol sites.

Healthcare Travel Costs Scheme (HTCS)

If you're referred to hospital for specialist NHS treatment or diagnostic tests, you may be eligible for financial assistance with your travel expenses through the  Healthcare Travel Costs Scheme.
