University Hospitals Bristol recognises the importance of providing appropriate training to staff, to ensure risks are effectively managed, and to provide the highest quality of care to patients and service users. The office ofLearning and Development - Administration and Systemsparticularly supports these efforts through facilitation of regular Corporate Inductions, and through the administration and application of the Trust's learning management system - the 'Portal'.

We integrate every new employee into the organisation through corporate induction, usually beginning their first day at work. Corporate inductions are offered twice monthly. They provide the foundation through which all staff, temporary or permanent, accomplish all core mandatory/statutory training programmes, and are effectively introduced to the Trust's culture, including its Mission, Vision, and Values.

The Library and Knowledge Centre is for all staff and students and provides access to PCs, thou-sands of resources and vital point of care tools. They provide training to support evidence search-ing and study skills, and answer nearly 200,000 enquiries each year. The library is digital, and can set you up with electronic access if you can't visit. They're also a fully mobile service, and have outreach services in over 50 departments across the Trust, providing you support at the point of need.
