Calls for joint UHBW Research Capability Funding (RCF) and
Bristol and Weston Hospitals Charity (BWHC) grants are usually held
twice a year, in spring and autumn. These awards are for up
to £25,000.
The aim of the small grants scheme is to pump-prime larger
grants especially to NIHR that will ultimately benefit UHBW
patients, staff and the wider NHS. For more details of funding
priorities and eligible costs please refer to the guidance
document.
Applications are welcomed from any medical or non-medical
UHBW employee or university (Bristol or West of England)
academic holding an honorary contract with UHBW.
Decisions on which is the most appropriate source of funding for
a specific project will be made by the Committee, once a decision
to fund has been made.
Occasionally we make awards to UHBW staff for research sessions
only, to allow time to write an NIHR grant application outside of
the main small grant calls (please talk to Elinor Griffiths in the
first instance, email: research.grants@uhbw.nhs.uk)
