Research Centre Lead
Dr Amber Young leads the clinical arm of the Burns Research
Centre. She is a Consultant Paediatric Anaesthetist and has been
Clinical Lead for the South West Children's Burns Network from 1999
- July 2018 and has been a Council Member of the British Burns
Association since 2006, leading the Prevention Group of the BBA
from 2010 - 2014 and research special interest group from 2015 -
2017.

Elisabeth Slade's PhD is investigating volatile compounds
emanating from wounds (both from model and real wounds) for the
rapid identification and detection of dominant microbial species.
Her PhD is supervised by Professor Darren Reynolds.
