Our service

We provide comprehensive, specialist services for the diagnosis, staging, treatment and hospital care of patients with cancer of the ovary, cervix, womb, vulva and some rare gynaecological cancers. Patients may be treated at St Michael's Hospital and/or the Bristol Haematology & Oncology Centre.

'Next Steps' Health and Wellbeing Days

Research by the National Cancer Survivorship Initiative has shown that traditional follow-up appointments often do not provide the range of support and information that people want and need.  Therefore, St Michaels Hospital, Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre and Bristol Royal Infirmary are now holding Health and Wellbeing events. These events give people the opportunity to gain confidence to take control and participate in their recovery, by providing relevant information to promote positive lifestyle change.

Coordinated by Macmillan Support Workers, the 'Next Steps' Health and Wellbeing days run every 8-12 weeks and are available for patients who are identified by their clinical team. These half-day events provide people with information on health and wellbeing, following their diagnosis and primary treatment for all cancers. There will be a range of speakers to provide practical advice and information, and 'market stalls' with local service information, that focuses on recovery and rehabilitation. In addition this event will also provide an opportunity to meet other people who have had a similar experience.
