Appointments

To arrange an appointment at Bristol Sexual Health Centre (Central Health Clinic) please call us on 0117 342 6900.
To arrange an appointment at another clinic site please choose a clinic by location, or opening time call us on 0117 342 6900 and let them know the location of the clinic you would prefer to visit. Our team will endeavour to offer you your preferred clinic, but remember that certain procedures or tests can only be carried out at specialist clinics. Please note that you do not need to contact us if you wish to attend a walk-in clinic.

Here to listen, not to tell

We provide a confidential service to all of our patients, including under 16s.

This means that you can tell others about your visit, but we won't.

The only reason we might have to consider passing on confidential information without your permission, would be to protect you, or someone else from very serious harm. We would always try to discuss this with you first.

We sometimes suggest that we inform your GP of ongoing treatment or conditions. We would only write to your GP with your agreement.

New texting service started on Monday 5 November 2012

The Text to Access service is ONLY AVAILABLE at Bristol Sexual Health Centre, Tower Hill Bristol BS2 0JD and is ONLY AVAILABLE from 5pm the day before the walk-in clinic you wish to attend.

What is Text to Access?

A texting service which will save you time. Text to request a slot to be seen in the next (working) day's clinic. Slots can be booked from 5pm the day before the walk-in clinic you wish to attend.

How does it work?

For men text: BOOKMALE to 07950080337 or for women text: BOOKFEM to 07950080337. Please note that this is an automated service and your text needs to contain the appropriate code.

What if I book for the wrong slot in error?

If you realise that you have booked for the wrong clinic - text CANCEL to 07950 080337. Re-book using the correct code - we are unable to see patients who have accidentally booked into the wrong clinics.

How do I know I have a slot booked?

You will receive a confirmation text showing you the time of your booking-in slot. The slot will be held for 30 minutes - after which time the slot will be released to our walk-in patients. If you are happy with the time offered there is no need to reply to our text.

What if the time given to me is not suitable?

If the slot is not suitable for you, text CANCEL to 07950080337 and try texting again later. However, we are unable to guarantee that a slot will still be available.

Have I made an appointment?

No, this is not an appointment. Texting gives you a better way to access our service. It avoids you coming to the clinic and being sent away, to return later in the day when a slot is available for you.

Will I be seen at the time shown on my text?

We cannot guarantee that you will be seen within this 30 minute window but you will be seen in that day's walk in clinic.

When can I text?

Slots will be available to book from 5pm the day before and until 8am on the day of the booking-in slot.

How many text slots are available?

Text slots are limited - so you may get a text to say that no slots are available for that day. However, you are welcome to come along to the walk-in, but we cannot guarantee that you will be seen.

How much will it cost me to text for a booking-in slot?

Texts are charged by your phone supplier at your current mobile text rate - we make no charge for this service.

What if I booked an appointment by phone, can I cancel it using the text service?

YES! As long as we have your mobile telephone number you can cancel your appointment with us by texting CANCEL to 07950080337 - You cannot re-book an appointment using this service. Please call our booking line: 0117 342 6900.

What if I booked an appointment but cannot remember the time or date?

Text REMIND to 07950080337 and we will text you back with your appointment date and time.

Can I book a text slot to have an IUS/IUD or Implant fitted?

Please call us on 0117 342 6900 for any of these methods of contraception, as a specialist contraception appointment is needed.
